Top 100 Forward Commits

Brendan Lane is off the board. On Saturday he picked one Pac-10 program from his three finalists and ended his process.

The UCLA Bruins nabbed one of their top frontcourt targets this weekend.

Brendan Lane, a Top 100 power forward out of Rocklin (Calif.) High, picked the Bruins over Stanford and California on Saturday. Lane is participating in adidas Nations this weekend and came to his decision after consulting his family.

"Me and my parents talked about it all week," Lane said. "We decided it was the right place and it was time to do it. It was the whole coaching staff, the development and support staff. It's a great program."

Per usual, UCLA's history and tradition, combined with the recent accolades Ben Howland delivered helped push them over the top. "The fact that they've been in the Final Four and played for the championship … the program has been outstanding."

Lane is one of the top bigs on the West Coast and UCLA's vision for this skilled player is quite clear to him. "They want me to start out playing the four and stretching the defense and hopefully move to the three and defend that. That's their goal."
