Blasczyk Changes Mind; Headed To Big 12

James Blasczyk changed his mind again. The 6-foot-10 big man is planning to his college ball in the Big 12.

After originally committing to TCU, James Blasczyk opted to back off his commitment and go to New Hampton Prep. But Sunday evening, he switched it up again by committing to Texas A&M.

"It's close to home and my friends and family can come watch me for every game and I wont have to go a couple states away for prep school. It just shortens up the journey a little bit."

"I've taken a few unofficials over there and I've played open gym with the team and everything."

The 6-foot-10 big man out of Friendswood (Tex.) High said he had interest from Pittsburgh, Illinois, USC and Texas Tech if he had reclassified to the 2009 class. Western Kentucky and Witchita State were among the schools still after him for 08.

The plan is to enroll at Texas A&M in the near future and redshirt during his first year on campus.

"I'm going to redshirt first, but I get a long with [the team]," he said when asked how he'd fit in at A&M. " They play the fast break offense that I like and feel comfortable playing in."

Blascyzk joins David Loubeau, of Davie (Fla.) Westlake Prep, and Dashan Harris, of Montverde (Fla.) Academy to make up the Aggies 2008 recruiting class.
