Dennis Headed To C-USA

Nolan Dennis is off the board. After considering a handful of schools the talented wing decided to lace them up for Memphis in Conference USA.

Nolan Dennis' recruitment is over. The Richland (Tex.) Richland Hills standout picked the Memphis Tigers late Wednesday evening. His AAU coach Tony Johnson confirmed the news.

"I think it's a good fit for him and actually I think he's going to be a big time player in that conference," Johnson said.

Dennis, who is rated as a four-star prospect on Scout.com, had interest from a host of programs including Texas, Kansas, North Carolina, Texas A&M and UCLA.

"He liked Memphis and he's been liking Memphis for a long time," Johnson said. "He likes the style of basketball that they play and their style does fit him. He likes the up and down and run system."

The 6-foot-5, 180-pounder is the first prospect to commit to Memphis for the 2009 class. He's currently ranked as the 6th best shooting guard in the class.
