Golden Decommits From OSU

Trae Golden is no longer committed to Ohio State. Golden, who committed to OSU last October, decided to open up his recruitment just prior to the July evaluation period.

Trae Golden made a decision to commit to Ohio State prior to his sophomore season. Now with his second season at Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern over and the summer circuit getting ready to kick into gear, he opted to reopen his recruitment.

"I just felt like I made my decision prematurely," Golden told Scout.com. "And I want to make sure they would be the right choice for me."

"Me and my family had been talking about it, and we felt like it was the right time," he continued.

Before initially picking the Buckeyes, Golden, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound SG, entertained interest from Kentucky, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Florida. He said he's already heard from a handful of schools.

"I'm wide open though," Golden said. "I've heard from Georgia, Georiga Tech, Florida State, and Wake Forest."

Golden, who runs with the Atlanta Celtics on the AAU circuit, will play in the It Takes 5ive Classic, the Team Breakdown tournament and the adidas Super 64 tournament during July.
