NORTH AUGUSTA, Ga. – Just like a pair of Georgia Stars did last year, Kammeon Holsey, of Sparta (Ga.) Hancock County, announced his college decision at the Nike Peach Jam.
has spent some time contemplating his college decision over the past few weeks and on Sunday he ended his recruitment, giving Georgia Tech
their second commitment in the 2009 class.
"Tech is the right fit for me," Holsey told Scout.com. It's in the ACC, they have good academics and they fit my style of play. I like the tempo and the coaching staff."
The 6-foot-8. 200-pound PF picked the Yellow Jackets over strong interest from a number of programs, including Clemson and Florida State.
"Coach Hewitt is a real nice guy and he puts education first," Holsey said. "I like the whole coaching staff."
Holsey, who is ranked No. 38 at the power forward spot, joins Brian Oliver, of Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy, in Georgia Tech's 2009 recruiting class.
