Snaer Hoping For Summer Decision

Michael Snaer, one of the elite 2009 shooting guards in the country, says he's hoping to choose a school shortly after July. Numerous high majors across the country are on the talented wing...

Michael Snaer, 6-4 SG Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde, has had a series of terrific showings since the April evaluation period. Snaer's size, high skill level and athleticism make him an ideal wing at the high major level and he's hearing from plenty of schools around the country.

I spoke with Snaer recently and asked about the schools that have been recruiting him.

"Florida State, Missouri, Marquette, UCLA, USC, Arizona, Washington, UNLV and Stanford are some of them," said Snaer. "They've all offered."

When asked which schools he has visited so far, Snaer said, "Florida State, Missouri, Marquette, UCLA, USC and UNLV."

I asked Snaer what he is looking for in a college.

"I want to go someplace where the coaches can really make me better," said Snaer. "Someplace where I can play my game and be one of the main guys right away. I want to go to a good school, someplace that can help me get to the next level."

Snaer said he's hoping to reach a decision fairly soon.

"I'd like to be able to decide shortly after Vegas," said Snaer.

A good student, Snaer should have no trouble qualifying academically.
