Bulldogs To Ink Star
Gary Ervin called Travis Outlaw right after he signed his national letter of intent with Mississippi State. "He said we're going to sign together, alley oop together and win together," John Outlaw, Travis' dad said. "They've got a good relationship and it's a good environment for them."
Outlaw took a little longer than usual because he wanted some questions answered. "The deal with Mario [Austin] sort of scared him a little bit. He wanted to make sure the school wasn't going to be on probation. He's happy with the university and he just wanted to make sure of that."
Outlaw's father cited staying close to family as the single biggest reason for selecting Rick Stansbury's program. "Ninety percent of his relatives are close by. By and large everybody is right around this area. That's the biggest thing. He wanted to go to a university that's close to home."
So far this season, Outlaw is averaging 24 points, 9 rebounds and 7 rejections a game.
