Dowell Is Off The Board Again

Reger Dowell is off the board again. The point guard out of Texas, recently gave a verbal commitment to a Pac 10 program.

It didn't take Arizona long to get through to Duncanville (Tex.) High standout Reger Dowell. The Cats began recruiting him two months ago and on Monday, he gave them a verbal commitment.

"I just felt like that was the best move for me," Dowell said. "I just really like Arizona, after watching them the past couple of years. I just like their style of play."

Dowell, a 6-foot-1 point guard, originally committed to Alabama, but decommitted from the Crimson Tide prior to the July evaluation period. He picked Arizona, despite not taking a visit to the campus.

"Coach Olson is a great coach and he's developed some of the best point guards in the league. I just feel like I can fit in, in that system."

Dowell picked Arizona over interest from Cincinnati, Providence and Fresno State. Dowell joins Solomon Hill and Mike Moser to make up the Wildcats current 2009 recruiting class.
