On Campus: Week of August 30

There are nearly 70 prospects making visits this weekend that we know about. None of the trips is bigger than the short journey Derrick Favors will take. No. 1 Favors is in town to check out the top-ranked Dawgs.

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs host Georgia Southern but that's merely the undercard in Athens. Scheduled to be in town for his official visit is Scout.com's No. 1 prospect Derrick Favors. Atlanta Celtics teammate Terrence Shannon is also rumored to be making the trip.

Sticking in SEC country, Vanderbilt tips off the visit season for No. 11 prospect Ryan Kelly. The southern trip is the first of four consecutive visits for the Team USA silver medalist.

Syracuse hosts an elite camp and so far we've heard juniors Tobias Harris, Taran Buie and Shaquille Thomas will lace them up.

Out West, two programs have key weekends. It's been a while since Mike Montgomery spent his Saturdays tailgaiting with recruits but that's exactly what the new Cal coach has in mind with forwards Clarence Trent and Eddie Ludwig in town.

Monday in L.A. is a huge unofficial event for the UCLA Bruins. Ben Howland's team has key seniors Tyler Honeycutt, Anthony Stover and Michael Snaer in the stands. Underclassmen Tyler Lamb and Allan Crabbe also get to sneak past security and sit with the Bruins.

Without further adieu, here's Scout.com's look at this week's holiday travelers. Keep in mind some of these visits took place during the latter part of the week.
