"It's going pretty slow right now," he said about his recruitment. "I got VCU, Stanford and UCF, those are the main schools recruiting me. Right now it's just those three. I'm still wide open, but those are the main three that are actually recruiting me right now."
Of the three schools involved, VCU is the only one that has stepped up their efforts with an offer. The Rams are also the only one of the three that have gotten him on campus for a visit, but that will change this weekend.
"I'm taking an unofficial visit to UCF this weekend and I'm hoping to set up official visits to Stanford and VCU in the near future," Eblen told Scout.com.
Having been the only school on his list that he's visited, VCU is the leader and Eblen says he'll be comparing all of his other visits to the one he took to Richmond (Va.).
"I'd say VCU is the leader, but at the same time I'm still wide open to new schools," Eblen said. "I took an unofficial visit to VCU over the summer, so I think they'll be my last visit. I want to see some other schools and compare them to VCU."
"They've been on me the hardest. First they thought I was definitely going to be a high major, so they didn't know if they should both recruiting me, but they kept recruiting me through the head coach and I like the fact that their head coaching is recruiting me."
Eblen, a three-star prospect on Scout.com, doesn't have a concrete timetable on his decision, but he'd like to sign in November.
"In a perfect world I would like to sign early, but I'm just going to wait until the time is right," he said. "But I'd preferably like to sign early."
