2011's Branch Stays In-State

Jamal Branch, a promising backcourt member of the Class of 2011, is off the board. On Labor Day, Branch found his home in the Big 12.

The Texas A&M Aggies are on the board in the Class of 2011. Mark Turgeon's bunch dipped into Humble (Tex.) Atoscocita High and scored a pledge from point guard Jamal Branch.

"I made my decision to attend Texas A&M," Branch told Scout.com. "I made it official today." The Kansas City, Mo., native attended camps at Texas, Kansas, Florida and Memphis and was receiving recruiting attention from each.

"I'm tired of the recruiting process and I really want to end it," Branch said. "I love A&M and I feel at home there. It's the coaches, how they act towards the players; they're real good with the players."

As a freshman last season, Branch said he averaged 13 points and 9 assists. A&M, which recently had a lottery selection at the point, sold Branch on his ability to fill those shoes.

"They describe me as Acie Law. They want to play around me and they want me to be in the system."
