2009 West Coast Rankings: Small Forwards

Solomon Hill, Tyler Honeycutt, Mike Moser and Hollis Thompson are among the talented prospects on the West Coast 2009 small forward list...

The small forwards in the west are as good as they've been in recent
years. There are several elite prospects at the top and good depth
throughout the list. Honeycutt gets a very slight edge for the number
one ranking, due to his unique attributes. In addition to being a good
shooter, Honeycutt is also an excellent passer and one of the best
shot-blockers in the west. If Honeycutt is 1A, then Moser is 1B. A
terrific athlete, Moser is a great defender and an underrated passer.
He has the potential to guard multiple spots on the court and the
ability to impact the game in a number of ways. Thompson is still
growing into his body, but he should be a very good player at Georgetown once he gains strength. Like Moser, Hill is another very good athlete and an even better passer. Hill has some point guard-like attributes in terms of his vision and approach to the game. Powell is a freak of an athlete with a high upside.
