University have been on quite a roll lately. The staff, which held one commitment this time last week, scored four more verbal commitments in a week.
The madness began last Thursday, when Allen Roberts, of Middletown (Ohio) High, committed, while on campus for the Redhawks nationally televised football game against Vanderbilt.
Then over the weekend Miami struck twice, gaining verbal commitments from Franklin (Tenn.) Centennial product Drew Kelly and JUCO standout Mark Anderson.
The most recent verbal came from North Ridgeville (Ohio) high standout Drew McGhee, Thursday morning.
"I think it's stacked," McGhee said of the class. "Hearing about the other guys and how they are playing and everything, I'm really excited about it."
McGhee, a three-star prospect, was planning to take a visit to Penn State this weekend, and had also set up visits for Davidson and Kent State, but opted to go ahead and commit to the Redhawks.
"I thought about it and talked to my coach and my parents," the 6-foot-10, 210-pound center said. "I thought about it and I just felt more comfortable with Miami."
"Miami got some good recruits and got commitments from 3 players in 72 hours," McGhee said. "Then they only had one [scholarship] left and I know they had other scholarships out so I knew I had to make my mind soon."
Orlando Williams, of Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton, is the fifth member of Miami's 2009 recruiting class.
