"X" Marks The Spot

Kevin Parrom didn't require any more visits. Over the weekend he found a spot that wet his appetite for winning. The A-10's reigning King landed a prince with New York roots.

It's refreshing to hear a committed recruit utter these words: it came down to winning.

Kevin Parrom, Scout.com's No. 74 prospect in the Class of 2009 picked the Xavier Musketeers on Saturday during his official visit. One of his main reasons was winning.

"Xavier wins big time," Parrom said. "Every year they go to the tournament and that played a nmajor part in my decision."

The 6-foot-5 native New Yorker is finishing up his prep career at South Kent where he's "up in the woods" but having a great time.

There's an obvious New York tie on the Xavier staff with Book Richardson working under Sean Miller. However, Parrom was just as impressed with Miller as he was comfortable with Richardson.

"Coach Miller helped me make my decision," Parrom said. "He's a great guy and he cares about his players."

Parrom considered St. John's, Providence, South Carolina and Pittsburgh.
