Galloway To The SEC

Darrin Horn and his staff targeted Florida point man Ramon Galloway from spring to summer. Once the guard arrived on campus this weekend, the relationship went to the next level.

The South Carolina Gamecocks zeroed in on point guard Ramon Galloway and on Saturday, Darrin Horn accepted a commitment from the 6-foot-2 Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer guard.

"I was considering South Carolina a lot because I talked to them all the time," Galloway said. "They've been sticking with me the whole entire time."

The athletic Galloway ran with the Florida Rams last spring and summer. As a junior, Galloway accounted for 20 points and was an all-county selection for one of the area's top teams.

The lead guard officially visited Columbia for the Gamecocks tilt with the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday.

"I was looking at the players this morning and watching and I figured that I can really help this team out. Being as though Devan Downey will be a senior when I'm a freshman he won't be able to do it all. I think I can help make it easier for him."

In addition to the Gamecocks commitment from Galloway, Horn owns a pledge from Top 100 wing Lakeem Jackson of the Christ School. The coach was in Raleigh conducting a home visit on Thursday with Apex (N.C.) Middle Creek 4-star recruit Garrius Adams.
