Smith Made His Pick Shortly After Visit

Jonathan Smith found his perfect fit. He's headed to an A-10 school.

Jonathan Smith, a 6-foot-7, 180-pound forward, feel in love with Saint Louis' campus, coaching staff and team, two weeks ago on a visit, and Monday evening he gave Rick Majerus and his staff a verbal commitment.

"I loved it," Smith said. "Their campus was beautiful. The campus was great and I think it'll be a good place to live."

Smith had interest from Bowling Green, Kent State, James Madison and Xavier, but said his decision ultimately came down to Saint Louis and Ohio.

"They have a Hall of Fame coach of course and he's going to make me a better player," Smith said. "The campus is beautiful, they have a great coaching staff and they have a young fresh team. I think they have the opportunity to be really good."

The Grove City (Ohio) High standout is the first member of the 2009 class to make a commitment to Saint Louis.
