Richardson Goes With Big East School

J.J. Richardson only needed one official visit to make his collegiate decision. He's headed to the Big East for his college ball.

With one talented big man in the fold and in need of another, Pittsburgh centered their recruiting efforts on Sugar Land (Tex.) Hightower standout J.J. Richardson, and late Tuesday evening they picked up a verbal commitment from the 6-foot-7 post prospect.

"I [committed] last night and I'm headed to Pitt," Richardson, a member of the 2009 class, said.

The weekend of September 6th, Richardson took an official visit to Pittsburgh. While on the trip he got a chance to see the facilities, hang out with the team and play pick up ball. According to Richardson, the visit is what sealed his commitment.

"When I went on my visit to Pitt I loved it as soon as I got there and the coach staff is real cool," Richardson said. "I got along with all of the players and they were all working hard and were in the gym all the time."

Richardson is Jamie Dixon's third commitment in the 2009 class. He joins a pair of Top 100 prospects in Dante Taylor, of Fort Washington (Md.) National Christian Academy, and Newark (N.J.) St. Benedict product Lamar Patterson.
