Slotter Goes With OVC Program

Colin Slotter wasn't planning to make a college decision this weekend, but while on campus at an OVC school he ended his deal.

Colin Slotter was contemplating trips to Central Florida and Utah, but after an exciting weekend at Murray State, the 6-foot-5 wing opted to end his recruitment.

"Actually I had no intention of committing going into the visit," Slotter told Scout.com. "I was planning on taking another. The first night I got there I just felt right at home."

"The first night I got there we got in around nine and we went out to eat and then I got to hang out with all of the players," he continued. "I just felt right at home from there."

To go with interest from UCF and Utah, the Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler product said he also had interest from Drexel, St. Bonaventure, Middle Tennessee and James Madison.

Although there were many factors that played into Slotter's decision, the Murray State coaching seemed to have played a major role.

"Their whole coaching staff is really great. Coach Amir [Abdul-Rahim] has been making his calls and has been on me the hardest," he said. "I met all of the players and they are all real cool. The whole atmosphere there is a whole basketball community really and I just like it a lot."

Slotter is the first member of the 2009 class to commit to the Racers.
