St. Pat's Bennett Decides

Paris Bennett visited George Mason this weekend and immediately knew he was onto something.

When it was time for Paris Bennett to make his pick, he found a place accustomed to winning, just like his high school.

The Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick small forward committed to George Mason after carefully considering Kent State and Siena. The Patriots, in Bennett's estimation, placed the same kind of premium on winning that his St. Pat's team does.

The 6-foot-6 forward who averaged 10 points a game, is ready to step in and be a part of a winning program. "I could have gone somewhere that didn't win a lot and been the main guy," Bennett said. "But, I wouldn't be happy there and would rather be a part of something bigger like I am now."

An energy guy, Bennett was taken by the commitment from the school and the staff.

"They're known and the coaching staff is into the game. Coach Larranaga has done so much for that school and he's not going anywhere. I really like their style of play and I can come in and make an impact.

"I think I can come in and be a match up problem and I'll also bring that energy and a leader role to the team like a coach on the court."
