Freeland Taking His Time

Tony Freeland, one of the better undersized post prospects in the west, says he'll sit down soon to set up some official visits...

Tony Freeland, 6-5 SR PF Los Angeles (Calif.) Fremont, is an outstanding rebounder and he plays much bigger than his size. He's a warrior in the paint and he often outworks bigger opponents.

I spoke with Freeland recently and asked about the schools that have been expressing interest in him.

"Boise State, Iowa State, DePaul, Oregon and Washington," said Freeland.

I asked Freeland which programs have been out to see him at his high school this month.

"Boise State and Iowa State came out," said Freeland. "DePaul is supposed to come next week."

Freeland has yet to take any official visits, but says he's working on setting some up.

"I'm going to sit down with my coaches on Wednesday and we're going discuss the visits," said Freeland.

I asked Freeland if he has any schools that he's sure he'll visit.

"I definitely want to visit DePaul and Washington," said Freeland.

When I asked if he still plans on signing in November, Freeland replied, "yes."
