"I [visited] Harvard and Cornell, and Penn was supposed to be coming up this weekend," Georgatos said. "Their coach got in contact with me last night and they decided that they were going to go for a guy that was ready to commit right away, so that visit ended up being canceled."
Once the visit was scratched, the 6-foot-7, 195-pound forward felt like he was ready to make his decision and he opted for Tommy Amaker's squad.
"Obviously they are all great schools, but as far as distinguishing between them it was probably just Coach Amaker, who came personally to a workout very early in my junior year," Georgators said. "I'd been in contact with them for a long time."
"He did a very good job at articulating his vision for what he wanted at Harvard and that was very impressive and something that I wanted to be apart of."
Georgatos is Harvard's second commitment in the 2009 class. He joins Adren (N.C.) Christ School standout Dee Giger.
