2010 Introduction: Ben Vozzola

Ben Vozzola, a 6-4 junior shooting guard from Las Vegas, is hearing from schools in the WAC, Big 12 and Mountain West...

Ben Vozzola, 6-4 JR SG Las Vegas (Nev.) Centennial, is a good-looking prospect with a nice stroke and some bounce. With continued development, he has a chance to be a high major player.

I spoke with Vozzola recently and he told me three schools are showing the most interest at this time.

"Utah came out to a practice and Texas Tech called -- they'll be coming to a practice," said Vozzola. "Nevada called and they'll be sending a coach to my practice this week."

When asked if he has an early favorite, Vozzola replied, "Utah -- they've been recruiting me the hardest."

I asked Vozzola what he's looking for in a school.

"I like the West Coast, so I'll probably stay somewhat close to home," said Vozzola. "I just want to find a coaching staff that I like, where I feel like I fit in and someplace where I can come in and play as a freshman."

Vozzola isn't planning on making an early decision.

"I want to decide early in my senior year, before the season starts," said Vozzola.

Vozzola said he has a GPA of "around 3.4 to 3.5."
