Zanna Joins Loaded Frontcourt

Talib Zanna made up his mind over the weekend, and became the third talented big men to commit to Pittsburgh.

Jamie Dixon made it clear he wanted to build up his frontcourt with the 2009 class. He went after highly regarded power forward Donte Taylor and got him. Then he picked up Texas forward J.J. Richardson. This weekend the Panthers reeled in Talib Zanna.

Zanna, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound big man out of Forestville (Md.) Bishop Mcnamara, verbally committed to Pittsburgh on Sunday. Bishop Mcnamara's head coach Marty Keithline confirmed his commitment a day later.

During his junior campaign, Zanna averaged 15 points. 13.5 rebounds and just over three blocks per game. He was named to the Prince George's County 1st Team and the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference 2nd Team.

To go with Zanna, Taylor and Richardson, Pittsburgh also has a commitment from 6-foot-5 wing Lamar Patterson.
