Vinson Takes Different Path; Goes With WCC

Terrell Vinson had narrowed his list of schools to four, and on Thursday he dwindled it to one and made his collegiate decision.

Terrell Vinson had scholarship offers from a handful of high major programs, but the 6-foot-7 forward opted to go with Bill Bayno and Loyola-Marymount.

"The last few months I've really gotten to know coach Bayno," Vinson said. "I felt like he was really true with his word and when I went out there for their elite camp he showed me some things that helped me improve my game."

"He came to the house visit and pulled out a list of things for me to work and I hadn't seen any other coach do that, that just impressed me," Vinson said.

Vinson, who recently transferred from Rockville (Md.) Montrose Christian to Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy, also considered and took visits to Maryland, Georgetown and Villanova.

Vinson is the third member of the 2009 class to commit to LMU. He joins former Compton (Calif.) High standout Edgar Garibay and Given Kalipinde, of Episcopal Academy (Va.).

Vinson checked in at No. 25 on Scout.com's power forward list and is No. 76 overall.
