Fitzgerald Sets Up Visit; Will Wait To Sign

Andrew Fitzgerald is one of the few four-star big men still on the market. He's set to start taking a few official visits, but he's planning to hold off on a decision until the spring.

Andrew Fitzgerald is in a new environment, and he seems to love every minute of it.

The 6-foot-8, 240-pound big man recently transferred from Baltimore (Md.) Owings Mills to Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy, to help him improve his grades and get more prepared for the next level.

"It's a great experience out here," Fitzgerald said. "There's nothing to do out here, but it's a great experience because it's getting me ready for college."

To go with Fitzgerald, Brewster's roster also consists of Top 25 big man Thomas Robinson and 6-foot-7 power forward Givon Crump, who is being recruited by a handful of high majors.

"The competition is heavy," Fitzgerald said. "Every day the whole team is getting better and everybody's speed and strength is increasing."

On the recruiting front, there have been a few changes, and he's set up a visit to a Big 12 school for the middle of the month.

"I had to cancel the Louisville visit because they got a big man from Indiana Elite," he said. "I'm going to Oklahoma, October 16th and then I'm going to schedule another visit to Minnesota."

"I have a lot of other schools in the mix, but those are the two that I'm planning to visit right now," he continued. "I also have NC State getting into the mix, USC and some other schools."

Although he'll take a few official visits in July, it appears Fitzgerald is set on signing during the second signing period.

"I'm going to wait until the spring and just wait it out," Fitzgerald said. "I'm not really worried about my college situation right now, I'm more worried about getting my school work done and getting my body right."
