Snaer Sorting Through Options

Michael Snaer, one of the top shooting guards in the country, took his fourth official visit this past weekend and he has another one lined up in a couple weeks...

Michael Snaer, 6-4 SR SG Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde, is one of the elite prospects in the class of 2009. A talented scorer, Snaer has good size and above average athleticism. He has a chance to be an impact player right away in college.

Snaer took a an official visit this past weekend to UCLA and I asked him how the visit went.

"It was cool – I had fun," said Snaer. "I already knew all the players and I had a lot of fun with them."

Snaer had previously taken official visits to Marquette, Missouri and Florida State. In two weeks, he'll take his final official visit to Kansas. I asked him if he thought he'd be ready to make a decision after the Kansas trip.

"I might or I could take an unofficial visit to possibly either Cal or Memphis," said Snaer.

Now that he's taken several visits, I asked Snaer if he has a better feel for what he's looking for in a school.

"The main thing is the environment and then the players and staff," said Snaer. "How I fit into the program right away is also an important factor."

Assuming he doesn't take any more unofficial visits, I asked Snaer if he thought he'd be ready to choose a school shortly after the Kansas trip.

"Yes, if I don't take any other unofficial visits, I should be ready after the Kansas visit," said Snaer.
