Still To The Big East

James Still of Detroit is off the board. This fall he'll sign papers with a Big East program.

The Providence Friars went into Detroit and scored a big man. James Still, a slender post man from Detroit Community, committed to the Friars after strongly considering Duquesne and Detroit.

"James Still will be attending Providence University," coach Anthony Wood told Scout.com. "They recruit very well. The big fella took a visit last month, three weeks ago. When he got there he told me the atmosphere was similar to the one at our school. It was a family atmosphere. It was a no brainer."

As a junior, Still averaged 14 points, 12.6 rebounds and three blocks a night.

"The plan to use him was instrumental in getting him. Coach said they're going to get up and down and they like to shoot the basketball. They'll use him in the pick and pop game and use him at the top of the press."
