Kilpatrick Fulfills Big East Dream

Sean Kilpatrick, as a high school senior, had Big East dreams. On Sunday night, Kilpatrick made it happen.

Ever since Mick Cronin nabbed Kenny Satterfield out of New York the coach has always kept an eye on the Empire State. On Sunday, Cincinnati went back to New York.

On Sunday night, shortly after his official visit, the 6-foot-4 Kilpatrick ended his recruitment and cancelled his visit with Providence. Either way, as Kilpatrick has contended, his game was Big East worthy.

"They're in the Big East so it made things difficult for other schools to get after me," Kilpatrick said. "I felt that my game was Big East material."

As a senior at White Plains last year, Kilpatrick averaged 18.1 points a game. A classic late bloomer, he'll play this winter for Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame Prep.

Cincinnati appealed to Kilpatrick because of the atmosphere and style.

"I basically liked the whole situation because they treated you like you were part of their family. They treat each other like family and you don't have to worry about anything.

"They let you play your game and they want you to have fun while you're playing it. They want me to score and they want me to put a lot of numbers up for them. I really want for us to win."
