Agony Over, Williams Has Decision

Some guys want the process to be over quickly while others don't mind the drama. Jordan Williams was torn between his two choices and on Monday evening ended his process.

The Maryland Terrapins won a tough recruiting battle Monday evening.

Jordan Williams, a coveted Top 100 big man out of Torrington (Conn.) High, was struggling with a decision. St. John's and the Terrapins were the choices and it wasn't easy.

"I was struggling," Williams said. "I couldn't think of what I wanted to do. I thought to myself and I might have been making the decision tougher than it was."

Finally, after a few days of nervous wrestling, Scout.com's No. 99 prospect in the Class of 2009 popped for the Terps.

"I think the main thing was education wise. I want to study criminal justice in college. Without basketball, I wanted to find something that works for me academically. Maryland has the No. 1 criminal justice program in the country. That's what mainly pushed them over the edge."

Maryland now owns pledges from two standout bigs. James Padgett committed to Gary Williams' team last month.
