Lead Guard Picks Big Ten School

Tim Frazier had a handful of schools vying for his services and he recently opted for a Big Ten Program.

Penn State was in need for a point guard and on Thursday morning they scored their man in Houston (Tex.) Strake Jesuit standout Tim Frazier.

"I decided to be a Nittany Lion because I felt it was a great fit for me," Frazier told Scout.com. "Penn State has great academics as well as a great basketball team and that's what I was looking for."

"The coaches were great and were really persistent in their recruiting and living up to what they said," he continued. "I had a great time on my official visit and my parents and coaches were all for so it there was no question that Penn State was the right place for me."

The 6-foot-1 lead guard committed to Penn State over plenty of other collegiate interest. Frazier took a visit to TCU and Stanford was also involved, but he wasn't admitted to the school.

Frazier, a three-star prospect on Scout.com, is the first member of the 2009 class to give a pledge to the Penn State staff.
