The 6-foot-8, 205-pound power forward has made a handful of unofficial visits and he took two more this past weekend, as he traveled to Chapel Hill (N.C.) and Durham (N.C.) to see North Carolina and Duke.
"It was awesome," McAdoo said about ‘Late Night with Roy,' which is UNC"s version of midnight madness. "I had never been to something like that so of course I thought it was crazy. I really liked it. It just showed that all the guys could go out there and have fun."
"I got to go to a Duke game [Saturday]," he said. "It was good. It was kind of a last minute thing. I got to talk to Coach K a little, but they were busy with the game. But it went good. It was awesome seeing the Cameron Crazies and stuff."
"I think they were one of the first schools to actually offer me," McAdoo said. "I had talked to them during the summer a lot and they've talked to coach Hutten, so I've been talking to them for a while."
Already a household name to college coaches and fans, McAdoo, a top 10 prospect in the 2011 class, has spent a lot of time thinking about the recruiting process and he's thought about the possibility of making an early commitment.
"I've thought about it, but then again I haven't been to all of these schools that are recruiting me," McAdoo said. "I'm not going to commit to one school if I haven't given these other schools a chance and haven't been down there to talk to the coaches and see the school. I'm just going to out there and soak all the knowledge up and see how they compare."
McAdoo, a standout at Norfolk (Va.) Christian, is rated as the top power forward prospect in the 2011 class. He checks in at No. 6 overall.
