Top 100 Kazemi Makes The Call

Arsalan Kazemi, one of the true under the radar national recruits, found his calling. On Friday night during his official visit one fortunate C-USA program added a significant piece to its puzzle.

The Rice Owls have their best recruit since Morris Almond.

On Friday night, 6-foot-7 Arsalan Kazemi committed to Rice after considering Maryland and Seton Hall. Kazemi visited Rice this weekend.

"He looked at me and said that he wanted to be here," Anthony Ibrahim, Kazemi's guardian told Scout.com.

Kazemi, a member of the Iranian Junior National team, is prepping this season at Lenoir (N.C.) Patterson School. After a strong showing at the Reebok All-American Camp and in Vegas with Houston Select, Scout.com inserted him into the current Top 100 at No. 82.

"He liked the campus," Ibrahim said. "He liked the team and the guys. He's big on helping the team and being a factor. He cares about the "W's" and he wants to come in and help those guys win. He thinks Ben Braun can turn this place around and win. Academically, they're high too."
