McCall Has Offers; Will Take His Time

Mike McCall has picked up a handful of scholarship offers and interest from a host of colleges. But the talented scorer isn't in a hurry to make a college decision.

Mike McCall, a junior standout at Chicago (Ill.) Foreman, spent the summer traveling with Chicago Elite, Indiana Elite's sister program, on the AAU circuit.

"I think it was good," McCall recalled. "I met a lot of players, like the Australians. I traveled a lot and got a lot of experience from playing against players all over the country."

"I think I played good against a bunch of guys that I'd never played against before," he added. "I thought that was cool to me."

Over the summer, McCall scored scholarship offers from Southern Illinois, Indiana State, Texas A&M, Washington State, Wichita State, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois.

To go with the scholarship offers, he also has interest Virginia, Wisconsin, Minnesota, St. Louis and Detroit.

"I'm still thinking about it," McCall said of his recruitment. "I should be ready [to make a decision] by the end of the season."

McCall has yet to take a college visit. However, Southern Illinois, Texas A&M, Washington State and Indiana State are all schools that he'd like to see in the near future.

The 6-foot-2 175-pounder is an impressive scorer. He uses pull up jumpers and drives to the hoop to score, despite his size he's capable of playing the two-guard, but he said majority of the schools involved in his recruitment are recruiting him as a lead guard.

"I can shoot and I just try to make plays," McCall said. "I can get buckets anytime. I'm a scorer."
