Colvin Has His School; Will Commit On 12th

Chris Colvin has been debating whether or not to sign in the early signing period, or what until the spring. He informed that he'll end his deal in the early period.

Chris Colvin's recruitment is nearing its end.

The scrappy, 6-foot-3 lead guard has narrowed his list of schools to just a few, and he has an idea of which school he's going to pick.

"I sat down with my parents and I think we came up with a decision on what school I'm going to go to and I'm going to sign on the 19th," Colvin said. "The visits that I've taken have been good. I'm going to verbal on the 12th and sign on the 19th."

Colvin, a standout at Chicago (Ill.) Whitney Young, said he will pick either Iowa State, Providence, Illinois, Marquette, USC or Connecticut.

Over the past few weeks Colvin has taken a handful of college visits. His most recent trip was to Ames (Iowa) to check out Iowa State's campus.

"It was pretty good," Colvin, a four-star prospect, told "I liked it a lot. I like the players down there and I got to play with the players and I got along with the coaches."

Colvin is ranked No. 10 on's point guard list.
