Big 12 Lures Junior Point Guard

Will Sprading couldn't resist any longer. After visiting campus at least five times, the junior point guard made his pick.

There's a hoop in Will Spradling's backyard and judging by his stroke, he's made a few shots out there. The next time he toes the line to sink a shot, maybe he'll look forward to his future at Kansas State.

The 6-foot-1 Shawnee Mission (Kan.) South point guard committed to the Kansas State Wildcats over UNLV Sunday night. The decision was made with great thought and planning as the junior point has been on KSU's campus at least five times.

Spradling accounted for 18 points, 5 assists and 4 four rebounds as a junior. His affection toward K-State began when he was scouted by the Wildcats during his freshman campaign.

"They have (recruited me) since, probably my freshman year," Spradling said. "I think it was the way I saw the floor that got them excited. Frank Martin said I was a lot like Steve Blake and that was one of his favorite point guards ever."

Spradling's a gamer, a tough customer and that's one of the qualities which drew him to Martin's program. "It's up in everybody's face, running the floor and pressuring the whole game."
