Scott Set To Head South

Durand Scott has kept quiet over the past few weeks, but on Wednesday he ended his silence. The highly coveted wing prospect opted to take his game to an ACC program.

Durand Scott's recruitment finally came to an end on the last day of the early signing period.

A standout at New York (N.Y.) Rice, Scott had his list cut down to Miami, Pittsburgh and Connecticut. According to sources close to the situation, Scott is headed to Miami.

Known as a big time competitor, Scott is fast, tough and capable of playing a handful of positions. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound wing is a stellar pick up late in the signing period and is a borderline McDonald's All-American candidate.

Scott, who is ranked No. 27 overall, took multiple visits to Miami, and the Hurricanes, who have spent a considerable amount of time with the talented wingman, have been thought of as the frontrunner for quiet some time.

With the Scott commitment set in stone, the Hurricanes are primed to move into Scout.com's Top 25 recruiting class rankings. Scott joins a pair of four-star prospects in Donnavan Kirk and Garrius Adams, and three-star prospect Lisandro Ruiz-Moreno.
