Natyazhko Has Strong List Of Suitors

With the early signing period over college coaches are starting to go through lists and target prospects that didn't sign. Kyryl Natyazhko is a guy that fits that mold and is just now starting to dive into his recruitment.

Kyryl Natyazhko, a native of Ukraine, is one of the best available big men.

At 6-foot-10, 240-pounds, Natyazhko, a product of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, is a handful on the block, but is also capable of stepping away from the paint to knock down mid-range jumpers.

After a strong showing throughout the spring and summer, Natyazhko garnered interest from a number of high major programs. Among the schools involved are Xavier, Arizona State, Miami, Pittsburgh, LSU, Florida State and Kentucky.

"Out of all of these programs, no one necessarily has a lead right now," IMG coach Vince Walden said. "I think that they are all kind of on the same page and he's still open. But we are definitely going to limit on where he's going to visit based on who is in play."

Walden said the plan is for Natyazhko, a four-star prospect and the 10th rated center in 2009, to begin taking college visits in February.

"The plan is to set up a plan for the second half of the season," he said. "We've been talking a lot with Sean Miller and Xavier and they want to get the kid up for a visit. We've talked a lot with Arizona State too. I've talked to coach Herb [Sendek] and coach [Dedrique] Taylor.

"Kentucky is one of his final schools too," he continued. "I talked to coach [Billy] Gillispie and coach [Jeremy] Cox and they said he's a top priority and that they have a scholarship of him."

There have been plenty of other interested parties as well. Since Natyazhko opted against signing in the early period, Waldens has received a handful of calls from schools trying to get involved.

"I've been getting a few calls from coaches asking if they could get in. We are just now starting to narrow it down."
