Top Eight For Anthony Brown

Anthony Brown, one of the elite wings in the West Coast class of 2010, has multiple Pac-10 schools, as well as a Big 12 program, on his list...

Anthony Brown, 6-5 JR SG/SF Huntington Beach (Calif.) Ocean View, is a very talented and promising wing prospect. Brown is still maturing physically, but he's got the skill level and feel for the game to become an elite player.

I spoke with Brown recently and asked him about the programs that are recruiting him.

"I've got a top eight right now," said Brown. "Arizona, Arizona State, USC, UCLA, Stanford, Washington, Cal and Texas."

I asked Brown if any schools stand out from the pack.

"No, they're all pretty equal right now," said Brown.

Brown said Arizona, Arizona State, USC and Stanford have extended scholarship offers.

Brown cited three main factors that he'll consider when picking a school.

"The academics first," said Brown. "Then the playing style and relationship with the coaches."

Brown has been to local schools USC and UCLA already, but plans on taking some visits in the spring.

"I'll probably go up to the Bay Area to see Cal and Stanford," said Brown. "I might go to Arizona and Arizona State as well."

I asked Brown if he has a time frame for making a decision.

"Probably sometime this summer," said Brown.
