Allen Makes Call For Big East

Bryon Allen, an Oak Hill Warrior, has decided to take his game to the Big East. The junior guard took his name off the big board Tuesday afternoon.

The West Virginia Mountaineers bolstered their 2010 recruiting class with a commitment from Oak Hill Academy guard Bryon Allen. The 6-foot-3 combo, a D.C. native who runs with D.C. Assault, committed to Bob Huggins this week.

"I think they went up on an unofficial and I think Bryon was excited after he spent time around Coach Huggins and watched them practice," Assault coach Curtis Malone told Scout.com. "He was impressed by what he saw."

Huggins and his staff own a commitment from point guard Noah Cottrill already and Allen is being groomed to chip in and help at both guard slots.

"I think what coach would like to see him do is play a little more point," Malone said. "He won't be a point but more of a combo guard. You know Huggs, he wants guys that are going to play hard."
