Cunningham Packs His Bags For The Pac-10

Jared Cunningham is going to play his college basketball in the Pac-10. An earlier pledge to Arizona State never materialized but another conference school found itself a guard this week.

Jared Cunningham is going to play in the Pac-10 after all.

Last year, the 6-foot-3 San Leandro (Calif.) High standout committed to Arizona State, That situation ended after last summer and Cunningham went back on the availables list.

This season, Cunnigham is accounting for 22 points and the Oregon State Beavers attained a commitment from the point guard this week.

The day after I de-commited from Arizona State they called," Cunningham said. "I went on a visit last Sunday for the USC game and watched them pull the victory out and that was amazing. I can see myself playing with them so I decided to commit."

Cunningham played a good portion of the summer on a bad ankle. His summer league coach thinks Oregon State is a good match.

"I think that some of the coaching and teaching techniques are going to really benefit Jared," EBO coach Darren Matsubara told Scout.com. "Being disciplined and not take any plays off. When he doesn't take plays off, Jared's really effective.

"I think playing at the Pac-10 level and the situation is a good fit. It's turned out really well for him. I think the other thing is that it's far but its not that far plus they come to California four times and that's a great benefit."
