2004 Spotlight: Robinson Louisme

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Meet junior center Robinson Louisme. We got our first look at him Wednesday evening at the City of Palms Classic and liked every bit of what we saw.

Not A Bad First Impression

Fort Myers wound up pretty much getting drilled by John Bartram in the end, 61-49. However, at one point in the third quarter when Fort Myers was religiously dumping the ball down low to center Robinson Louisme (Class of 2004), their fortunes appeared to change.

Louisme did his best to keep his team close. They actually cut the lead to 2 points but for some reason ceased and desisted their looks inside. Louisme finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds. He came into the contest averaging 12.5 points and 11 boards.

After the game, Louisme said that he's been hearing from Florida State, Miami, South Florida and UNC-Wilmington. We can see why.

At 6-8 and 250 pounds he's a nice target on the interior. Efficiency was the hallmark of his game inside. Each time he touched the ball in scoring range he made it count. Around the basket he demonstrated a good touch.

Athletically he's average for his size. However, it looks like he's still working on his conditioning. More than once he signaled to come out of the game, only to rest for a minute or so and come right back in. What we really liked about him was that he made you foul him in the paint. He drew contact with his body and got fouled.

Granted, this was our first look at him but we really liked what we saw and are anxious to see more of the big fella.
