2010 Hale Having Solid Junior Season

Scout.com caught up with Donnie Hall, a standout in the 2010 class, to get an update on his recruitment and recent play at New Albany.

Donnie Hale's junior season is off to a great start.

New Albany (Ind.) High has an unblemished record of 10-0 and the 6-foot-7, 200-pounder is contributing an impressive 21 points and 13 rebounds per outing.

"I bring rebounding to the team," Hale said. "I look to pass a lot. I don't need to take over the game. I'm a pretty good team player and just try and help us get the win."

During the off season, Hale spent majority of his time traveling the circuit playing alongside Ohio State commit DeShaun Thomas on the Spiece Indy Head squad and college coaches certainly took notice.

"Over the summer it was kind of crazy and I heard from a lot of teams," Hale said. "It's calmed down a lot since the seasons started."

Xavier, Purdue, Indiana, Kentucky, Marquette, Virginia and Penn State are among the schools that have shown interest. The Musketeers and Boilermakers are the only two that have offered.

"I've taken visits to Louisville, IU, Xavier and Purdue," Hale said. "And I'm working on a visit to Virginia this year. I don't' have any other visits scheduled, but I'm sure I'll take some others in the summer."

"I just want to fit into the basketball program and feel comfortable around the coaches," he said. "If they have a good academics that will help."

Hale, a 2010 prospect, was adamant that he's still in the beginning stages of his recruitment and still open to new schools.
