2010 Introduction: James Walker

James Walker, a bouncy two-guard from Southern California, is currently drawing interest from a few schools in the WAC and Pac-10...

James Walker, 6-2 JR SG Los Alamitos (Calif.) High, is a good-looking young prospect with length and athleticism. He's got a decent shot to 17-18 feet, as well as the ability to finish at the rim. He also has the potential to eventually be a very good defender.

I spoke with Walker recently and he mentioned three schools that have been in contact with him so far.

"Nevada, San Jose State and USC," said Walker.

I asked if any of the three have offered a scholarship yet.

"I think San Jose State has offered," said Walker.

When questioned about the issues he'll consider when picking a school, Walker said, "Just how the school is and whether I can go in and be successful there."

Walker said he really hasn't considered a time frame yet for choosing a school.

"I need to sit down and talk with my parents about it," said Walker.

Walker said he's doing well academically and is on track to qualify.
