Long List For Terrance Jones

Terrance Jones, a 6-7 junior power forward from Oregon, is hearing from a number of schools, but says no one program stands out for him at the moment...

Terrance Jones, 6-7 JR PF Portland (Ore.) Jefferson, told me recently that he has a long list of schools expressing interest in him.

"Oklahoma, Georgetown, North Carolina, Tennessee, USC, UNLV, Florida, UConn, Memphis, Washington, Texas, Cal, Oregon State, Baylor and Marquette," said Jones.

I asked Jones if any school has extended a scholarship offer yet.

"Georgetown, Washington, Cal, Oregon State, Baylor and Marquette have offered," said Jones.

When questioned about the issues that will be important to his decision, Jones replied, "A fast paced offense where the wings are free to do what they want. Early playing time and the location aren't real important."

Jones took an unofficial visit to Georgetown last summer.

"It was good," said Jones. "It was the first time I'd been there -- I liked it."

Jones said he's not sure yet about which other schools he will be visiting.

I asked him if he has a time frame in mind for picking a college.

"I'm not sure on the time frame -- just whenever I'm ready," said Jones.

Jones said he has a 3.0 GPA.
