Vinson Released And Looking

Terrell Vinson is one of just a few Top 100 targets available. Since the 6-foot-7 forward picked up his release he's heard from nearly a dozen schools.

Following Bill Bayno's resignation, Terrell Vinson asked for his release. On Thursday, Vinson scored his hard copy.

Now the 6-foot-7, 205-pounder can move forward with the process and begin talking to prospective schools. Vinson is basically re-starting his recruitment and is already hearing from a number of programs.

"Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, UMass, South Florida and Charlotte have all contacted me," Vinson said. "But when I was waiting on my release I really didn't get a chance to think about my schools because I wasn't allowed to talk to anybody."

According to Vinson, Notre Dame, Providence and Louisville have also shown some interest, but have gone through his AAU coach.

Vinson has already set forth a plan for his recruitment. Going forward he's going to get his list down to a few schools and begin taking visits again.

"I'm probably going to try and narrow it done to two or three schools," Vinson said. "I think I have three [official] visits left. So I'm going to try and narrow it done and visit the schools."

Vinson is having a great senior season for Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy and is among the primary reasons they have a 23-3 record.

"It's been a different look because I've been playing the three and handling the ball a lot this year," he said. "There's been more freedom and I've been able to show that I can play the three."

Vinson, a four-star prospect, is averaging 25 points and 10 rebounds per game.
