Allen Recants, Finds New Home

Jack McClinton and Antoine Allen came up through the same AAU program. Both Baltimore natives, the pair is on target to reunite once again.

Antoine Allen, a 6-foot-2 guard out of Jackson (Miss.) Elite Christian Academy, reconsidered his commitment to the Big East and found his home in the ACC.

The Baltimore native is no longer committed to Providence, the school that landed him last August. "The scoop is that I de-committed from Providence a week ago," Allen told Scout.com. "I weighed my options and I think Miami is the best fit for me and I weighed my options again."

The Hurricanes, Virginia, Kentucky and Florida State all had him on their radar. As it turns out, Miami had him in their sights and vice versa.

"I've been watching them play all year and the way he coaches. The way they play on offense and defense is the way I play."

Allen might have identified the ‘Canes as a potential suitor but he had help. Jack McClinton, Miami's star guard, is a Baltimore native and knows Allen well.

"Jack and Antoine are from the same program," Baltimore Cecil Kirk coach Anthony Lewis said. "(College coaches) tell me that he's a cross between Jack McClinton and Chester Frazier (another Cecil Kirk alum). He can shoot it like a young McClinton and defends like Frazier. At this stage in their careers, I'd say he's compatible to Jack offensively. It's a great situation for him."
