Michael Gilchrist, the team's outstanding 6-foot-7 sophomore small forward, is likely to miss a significant amount of time, possibly the remainder of the season, with a broken foot.
"I don't for sure yet," Gilchrist said Sunday night. "I was going up for a dunk and I just came down hard."
Gilchrist, potentially the best underclassman in the country, turned in an outstanding sophomore season to date. Not only a great talent, Gilchrist has been on of the most intense, hardest playing performers we've see all year.
It's been a bit of a unique season for the Celtics. The team finished second at the prestigious City of Palms Classic and then added transfer Kyrie Irving in January. They've had the benefit of a full roster on the past month and now Gilchrist goes down with an injury.
Gilchrist is presently Scout.com's No. 2 sophomore.
