Devils Score With Freshman Trigger Man

One of the big fish transfers is on the hook for a big time program. Seth Curry only needed to see one campus. After visiting Duke, he immediately knew what jersey he'd wear next.

It didn't take long for Seth Curry to find himself a new home. Less than a week after transferring from Liberty, Curry was headed to the ACC.

On Sunday night, during a campus visit with his family, Curry committed to Duke. "If he'd have taken any more visits it would have been to Clemson and Wake Forest," Dell Curry, Seth's father said. He's been to Virginia Tech." Davidson was also considered.

"He talked to Bob several times. He visited there coming out of high school and he's comfortable but once he saw Duke (it was over)."

As a freshman last year, Curry (like his older brother) made a seamless transition from high school to college ball. Curry's 20.2 points led freshmen nationally in scoring and he was the Big South's frosh of the year. Duke gave him an opportunity to sit out, work on his body and test himself at the highest level.

"I think it was Coach K's excitement over the possibility of him coming there. The timing, who would be leaving and who he'd have a chance to play with – Kelly and Plumlee – are from the same league. Everything was perfect. It was an easy process."
