"I chose Marquette because of what they do with their guards," Johnson-Odom said. "I also like the way Coach Buzz came into the program and was able to lead his team to the tourney."
Johnson-Odom knows a thing or two about leading his team to the tournament. Prior to a stint at The Patterson School and junior college, he attended Raleigh (N.C.) Wakefield High. As a junior, D.J.O. helped the Wolverines to a state championship. For his efforts, he was named the most outstanding player in the 4-A state tournament.
Johnson-Odom has a powerful body, a penchant for scoring and he'll be ready to rumble with the rigors of a Big East schedule. "Their style fits me because they use a three-guard set and I'm a guard who can create his own shot but can also create for my teammates."
