Sanford Goes With Big East Team

After a long process Vee Sanford has come to a decision. The talented combo guard made his pick shortly after an official visit this past weekend.

Vee Sanford had a tough decision to make.

The 6-foot-3 combo guard had a handful of high major programs in the mix, but also a number of mid-level programs pressuring him for a decision. On Monday the Lexington (Ky.) Catholic standout made up his mind and went with Georgetown.

"I think coach [John] Thompson and coach [Robert] Burke did a great job recruiting him," Catholic head coach Brandon Salsman said.

Among the schools that were involved with Sanford's recruitment were Charlotte, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), St. Louis, Nebraska, Toledo, Fairfield, Kansas State and Iowa.

Sanford is the second 2009 prospect to commit to Georgetown. Hollis Thompson, who enrolled in December, was the other commitment.
